The MonoLoco Workshop

A small urban sawmill located in the South East side of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Since 2014, our focus has been on repurposing the local desert hardwoods that have either come down or needed to be removed. Even though we have kept this as a hobby, we have been able cut and dry a lot of slabs & cookies over the past 12+ years continually increasing our knowledge on how to cut and dry wood in our climate.

EXPLORE OUR WOOD

We don’t currently have “open” hours but both services & wood are available for sale by appointment. We typically have hundreds of dry and drying slabs, cookies & cants available for purchase. We primarily focus on locally grown trees such as Mesquite, Mediterranean Olive, Acacia, Indian Rosewood (Sisso), African Sumac, Eucalyptus, Silky Oak, Salt Cedar, Aleppo & Ponderosa Pine, etc… but also get things like Osage Orange and burly Boxelder.

SAWMILL & RESAWING

If you have a tree that has recently come down and would like to have it cut up into slabs or lumber, we can currently handle logs up to 28” in diameter. We have a larger 50+” chainsaw mill but preferer to only use it when absolutely needed. If your log is on the smaller side, anything smaller than ~2’ long and/or 10” wide will need additional effort properly securing to the sawmill.

Bandsaw Mill: $100 / hour
$30 for damaging a blade due to metal
Chainsaw Mill: Individually assessed and priced
Log Transportation: $100 (25 mile range)

CNC ROUTING & SURFACING

For those warped slabs, uneven glue-ups and epoxy pour cleanups, we are currently utilizing a large CNC with a 5’ x 16’ capacity and a 2” replaceable carbide insert surfacing bit. We also offer large sized CNC routing capabilities for when you need an 8’ tall letter ‘P’.

CNC Routing: Design time + $100 / hour CNC time
CNC Surfacing: $100 / hour CNC time
